About Carrier Transport AC
- Carrier’s AvantAC™ All-Electric Bus Air-Conditioning System is the first modular rooftop all-electric system in North America, providing passenger comfort in intercity and transit buses independently of vehicle engine speed. The innovative air-conditioning system provides the required capacity consistently, even with the bus engine idling. The system features multiple, electrically driven, self-contained “plug-and-play” modules installed on the vehicle roof. The refrigeration system comes self-contained, fully sealed, factory charged with the industry standard, non-ozone depleting R134a refrigerant and fully tested.
With a global reputation for superior performance and reliability, Carrier’s AC353 inline rooftop bus air-conditioning system has been enhanced to meet the demanding and varied needs of the North America market. The new system uses Carrier’s micro-channel heat exchanger (MCHX) coil technology, which delivers significant performance improvements through better heat transfer and thermal performance. The AC353 has a smaller footprint, lower overall fuel consumption, a superior cooling capacity, and reduced life-cycle cost compared to its predecessors.
Carrier's RearMount (RM) systems deliver significantly higher operating capacity and efficiency, considerably less maintenance, measurably longer system life, and reduced engine loads and fuel consumption. Carrier's RM systems meet or exceed all industry-recognized specifications in both the heating and cooling modes. Proven under the most demanding conditions and backed by responsive customer service, Carrier RM systems offer the lowest life-cycle cost.
