Invar Alloy, also know as Invar 36, NILO 36, Pernifer 36, and Invar Steel, is a Nickel Iron controlled expansion alloy with 36% Nickel and the remaining balance Iron. Invar exhibits extremely low expansion around ambient temperatures, making Invar particularly useful in applications where minimum thermal expansion and high dimensional stability is required, such as in precision instruments like optoelectronic devices, optical and laser benches, electronics, and other kinds of scientific instruments.
Ed Fagan Inc. stocks Invar Coil and Strip in thicknesses of .001", .002", .0098", .010", .012", .020", .030", and .040" as standard sizes, and EFI can slit coil to your exact requirements for just-in-time delivery. All standard in-stock Invar Alloy Coil and Strip items can be shipped within 24 hours - and are often shipped the same day - and all materials can be certified with shipment.
If you need other forms of Invar, EFI also stocks Invar in Rod, Bar, Sheet, and Plate.
EFI stocks a wide range of controlled expansion alloys, in a variety of forms and conditions including Kovar (also know as ASTM F-15, NILO K, Pernifer 2918, Rodar, and Dilvar P1), Alloy 42 (also know as Pernifer 42, NILO 42, Glass-Seal 42), Alloy 42-6 (also known as Glass-Seal 42-6), Alloy 46 (also know as Pernifer 46, NILO 46, Glass-Seal 46), Alloy 48 (also know as Pernifer 48, NILO 48, Glass-Seal 48), Alloy 52 (also know as Pernifer 50, NILO 50, Glass-Seal 52).
